A Tumblr Worthy Day
So my day starts out pretty normally. Wake up at 6:45, shower, get ready, yada yada. Then comes my Music 101 class. We have a speaker (as usual) on Music Education (its more boring than it sounds). She was so quiet and so boring I didn’t even bother paying attention (I’m not interested in the program anyways). The afterwards, Ms. Diane Rosetti whips a bombshell….QUIZ TIME! A 100 pt quiz on all the speakers we’ve ever had. Of course, me being the genius that I am, I cleaned out all my notes 3 DAYS BEFORE….go me! So after I was assraped by that quiz, I went off to the Sip (a Tues/Thurs tradition). I talked to an extremely cute (and really sweet) senior girl named Anna for about 5 mins, until she had to go to piano practice (or so she says)(At this point in time, I also ran into my old pals Haley, Anna A., and Juan Carlos). Then I went over to a table with Zach, Mitch, and Kyle and asked ‘Was that quiz rapage or what?’. To my surprise, they weren’t at class today. Kyle and Zach went to class, but bailed when they saw that it was just Music Education. They then called up Mitch and got him to meet them at the Sip. So Mitch got a zero on the quiz…ON HIS BIRTHDAY, no less. At this point, Zach, Mitch and I proceeded to go to Starfleet and check out CDS…I outdid myself by checking out 17 CDs (4 Paganini, 5 Brahms, 5 Scarliatti, 2 Dvorak, and 1 Dittersdorf). After this I RAN to my appointment for my midterm for musicianship. For once I was late and not Paul Smith. First I did rhythm. At first I was psyching myself out and doing terribly…then once he calmed me down, I did fine on that. Then came singing. For some reason I did terrible and could not fix it. Luckily, Smith is a kind man (when he shows up), and gave me a chance to practice by my piano over the weekend and try again next week. I feel he wants to suggest that I don’t be a music major, but I am doing rather good theory-wise and I am practicing. I’m not sure whether or not he sees potential in me, however. After that sodomy of my musical self confidence, I spent the next 20 minutes looking for the office of Lea Antoine for my advisement. Once I found it, I had her, well, advise me. The good news is that I pretty much officially decided that I’m going to audition for Media Composition (if I change my mind, I still have about a year to go into the Classical comp program). The bad news is that I cannot take Musicianship 112 or Keyboarding 102 until SPRING 2011, since I didn’t audition in the fall semester. That was kind of a bummer. After this, I went outside the Cyprus Hall to wait for people to hang out with, since I couldn’t attend the noonish concerts. When Mitch and James W. came out, I hung out with them until about 1:45ish when I headed to sociology. Sociology wasn’t too bad…the lecture was interesting, but I kept on nodding off to sleep for some reason. Once that was over, I met up with Danica, Mitch, and Zach (and this kid Ian was hanging out there too….he’s a pretty chill dude and a wicked cello player). At 3:45 we headed off to the Cafe-O, a hookah bar. I rode with Danica and Zach, and in the other car was Mitch, James B., and Kyle. Our car arrived about 25 mins before the other car. Once there, we ordered a pipe of hookah and everyone was smoking it (except for me…I didn’t have any desire to). It was a chill, laid back environment where we talked, laughed, and all except me blowed $20 flavored air with a hint of nicotine in their mouths. At 6:00, Evan showed up and we hung out for about 45 mins more before everyone had to bounce back to the school (Danica had an opera to work on- which Cody was attending so I had to wait for him, and Kyle and Evan had steel drum ensembles). So Mitch, Zach and I headed to the dorms and ate at a buffet called Geronimos. I was expecting to pay $12, but the dinner was free since the place was celebrating a Halloween party. So we hung out there and met up with a really cute girl named Emma (which we agreed Mitch should tap if he breaks up with his gf- for the good of humanity, mind you). We also met up with some other people from my musicianship 111 class, and we spent a good 20 minutes making fun of Paul Smith and his tardy ways. Then one of the guys suggested to head back to his dorm…so we all followed. There were hints of getting high and stuff so I was starting to get paranoid and worried. At the dorm I was really paranoid and kept on wanting to text my bro, but by this point my cell was dead. Fortunately, Zach calmed me down a little bit. But I was really worried about pot smell on my clothes, even if I knew I wasn’t taking a hit. A bunch of the guys left into one of the bedrooms, leaving Mitch and I to watch the Office. Finally, Mitch went to the room to say later, and I decided to follow suit. While in the room, it was clear that some pot had been smoked. I decided to linger for about 5 more minutes, because I gave Cody Zach’s number in case he decided to get in touch with me, so I was waiting for that call. Finally, my paranoia got to me and I truly decided to bounce before the serious toking started (again, not worried about actually doing anything, I just didn’t want to be suspected of doing something I wasn’t). So I walked to long, arduous journey back from the dorms to Nordoff hall and waited in uncertainty until the opera was over. Once I met up with Cody, we headed right on home and discussed the events of our day, and how, despite walking across campus at 10 P.M. with no cell phone, I made the right choice by not sticking around, even if I wasn’t even tempted to toke.
It was a decent enough day…it could have been a lot better, but it is nice knowing I have a lot of friends in college (even though they do unsavory things that I don’t necessarily agree with). I don’t judge, and thankfully, they don’t judge back. (BTW, sorry for the abundant usage of names…but it made things a lot clearer than using vague descriptions of these people)
WALL O’ TEXT!!!! MY EYES THEY BLEED!!!!
